is credited with casting when Sherry Lee and Amy Dematteis booked principal roles with Neo
60 Studios' film, "The Curse of Atreus". See below for more details.
Screen treatment in brief:
The Curse of Atreus is Part I of an experimental noir-trilogy based
on the Oresteia by Aesehylus that reexamines the ancient ethos
present to Attic tragedy and questions the permanence of moral codes, which the varying
demands of existence regularly contend.
Credits (main players):
Sherry Lee plays the psychic/prophetess Cassandra who is concubine to Agamemnon.
The story unfolds through her eyes and her narration.
Amy DeMatteis is the ruthless wife Clytemnestra who seduces and kills
Agamemnon upon his return from a ten year incarceration.
Jeff St. Clair's Agamemnon is a pitiful slave to his will, who longs to
emancipate himself from the psychological grasp of Clytemnestra and effectuate a
relationship with Cassandra.
J.M. Magrini (Writer/Director): Much like Pasolini and Cocteau, I
too feel an intense kindred passion for Greek myth, art and life. We learn from the
Greeks that no escape is possible from the horrifying drama of existence, so one must
exult in it and derive inspiration from it. My last experimental film Wild
Mother of Passion was screened at over 10 film festivals in the United States,
France, Germany and Eastern Europe.
Laura Esther (Producer): She is a former actress (Phaedra
in the 1998 theatrical adaptation of the Nikos Kazantakis' novel, At the Palace of
Knossos) and freelance photographer who now owns a highly successful portraiture
company (Neo 60 Studios) in Chicago, Illinois. In her spare time
she enjoys working on independent films as an actress, production assistant and still
photographer. |
